2–3 cupful chopped mushrooms ¼ cupful butter 1 cupful bread crumbs 2 eggs a little salt a bit of mace 1 tablespoonful olive oil a dash of cayenne pepper a dash of nutmeg mushroom gravy Peel and chop the mushrooms to make two-thirds of a cupful. Cook with the butter, and cool. To the well beaten eggs add oil, bread crumbs and seasoning, the mushroom mixture, and mushroom gravy if needed, to form into small balls. Fry about five minutes and serve around a roast.
