Oh, he wouldn't be so unhuman as that. He would. He was always settin' one agin' t' other. He used t' tell me I had t' figger how t' git the best o' yuh or he'd baste me. It was him showed me how t' shake my old clock so it'd run fur five minutes, an' then you'd swop that pail yuh found fur it. Huh! He give me his gum t' stop up the hole in that pail. Yuh wouldn't know it leaked an' we could laugh at yuh when you had t' carry water in it.
