Of course, it wasn't as if there weren't plenty of men who were only too anxious to console me. Men have always been attracted by me, you know. (ELIZABETH: Oh, of course, I can quite understand it.) But I had my self-respect to think of. I felt that whatever Hughie did I would do nothing that I should regret.
